Stedman, NC
The old Stedman Depot has been part of the town’s story for well over a century. Originally built around 1890 as a railroad depot for the Cape Fear & Yadkin Valley Railway, it once welcomed trains and travelers through the heart of town.
Years later, the building took on a new life as the Stedman Public Library. For many of us who grew up here, it became more than an old train depot. It became a place tied to childhood memories — story time, checking out books, and learning something new after school.
Today, the building serves as the Stedman Town Museum, preserving the history of the community it has quietly watched grow for generations. Sitting beside the town park and near the water tower, it remains one of those places that instantly feels like home to the people who grew up here.
