Long before that, the area carried the history of Averasboro, with roots reaching back to the closing days of the Civil War.

From its beginnings as a mill village to the community it is today, Erwin has always been defined by resilience and pride. That spirit still shows in traditions like Denim Days and in the stories passed down through generations.
